Jay M. McDannell is a civil/commercial litigator with over two decades of experience in state and federal courts, both in the DMV and nationally. Jay has successfully litigated and resolved a wide variety of cases for clients in areas including trade secrets, government contracts, construction, energy, financial services, fraud, insurance, civil rights and complex commercial disputes. Jay's clients have included individuals, small business owners and multinational corporations.
Jay spent his early career as an attorney at Sutherland (now Eversheds Sutherland). For the last decade, Jay has worked to bring this big-firm experience to clients who demand not only the highest quality litigation services but also modern and creative solutions with a business focus. Jay also represents several companies as General Counsel and provides wide-ranging business advice to companies on issues ranging from corporate risk to strategic growth.
Jay plays softball and tennis to unwind. His knowledge of The West Wing and The Big Bang Theory are true signs of a misspent middle age. Jay has also done award-winning work with underprivileged District of Columbia high-school students to provide mentors, knowledge, motivation and preparation to succeed at four-year colleges.
